1. Solar Power Awareness
Since the property is 100% solar, guests need to know they are “living with the sun.”

We are proud to be an eco-friendly, solar-powered property. We ask guests to be mindful of energy use, especially at night or during consecutive cloudy days, to ensure the battery bank remains charged for essential lighting and fans.

2. The Road & Vehicle Requirements
The road up to the Cuervito area can be a bit of an adventure for those used to city streets.

We are located on a quiet, private road in the hills. To ensure you can explore the area comfortably and reach the property without issue, a 4×4 vehicle is necessary, especially during the green (rainy) season.

3. Nature & Wildlife (The “Jungle” factor)
People love the idea of the jungle, but sometimes forget what comes with it.

You will be immersed in nature! While we have screens and a clean space, you will hear (and see) monkeys, exotic birds, and the occasional jungle insect. It’s all part of the authentic Costa Rican experience. Please do not try interacting with the wildlife, we are in their home and must respect that.

4. Surf & Tides
Pilon is one of the most beautiful and beginner-friendly waves in the world. We recommend checking the tide charts, as the point tends to work best on a mid-to-high tide.

5. Water Conservation
Our water is heated by the sun! Please be mindful that hot water is most abundant during and shortly after sunny periods.

Rental Price Breakdown of Casa Dulce: (Colones amounts can change slightly due to daily exchange rates)

Nightly = $68 USD / 32,000 colones

Weekly = $390 USD / 185,000 colones

Monthly = $1,290 USD / 605,000 colones

Rental Policy: Full Rent amount or Deposit must be received before confirmation can be given and the calendar can be “closed”. 

Refund Policy: Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to check-in date allows for a full refund of money received. Cancellations made 15 days prior to check-in date allows a 50% refund of money received. A cancellation made less than 15 days prior to check-in date does not allow for any refund of money received.
