This is the best, if not one of the best built properties in the Pavones Costa Rica area. The seller is an excellent builder from Europe and constructed this luxurious fortress for his family, so you know he did it with quality. The main house is a concrete and steel-reinforced home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and a full separate rental unit downstairs with its on bathroom as well. The rest of the downstairs area can be easily finished into additional bedrooms or additional living space. The owner currently uses the down stairs area as a large garage work shop. The house was built in 2010 and has resisted many earthquakes without any damage at all due to the quality of the build. The pool is made from reinforced concrete all poured at once (monolithic) and has an infinity edge with an adjacent kid pool. The property runs on solar power but is also tied to the grid and the owner actually sells electricity back to the grid on most days. The solar system is state-of-the-art with 24 solar panels, Lithium Ion batteries for energy storage and a 15KW on-grid inverter and charge controller that makes it all run automatically.

The property is meticulously kept by the owners and they love trees and wildlife, so be prepared to immerse yourself in an amazing jungle experience. They built trails throughout the property and people even pay to come in to do night wildlife viewing tours. The trails lead down to the creek where the jungle animals come to drink water. Just a minute or two walk up the creek brings you to an amazing small waterfall with a nice deep pool to relax in. The waterfall is not on the property, however no one owns the rivers in Costa Rica, so you can walk up the river without trespassing on anyone’s property. The houses on this parcel have 3 sources of water, so you will never run out. It’s fed by the Zancudo public water system and has two wells, including a deep perforated well that is currently not in use but can easily be used if you would rather drink deep well water rather than municipality treated potable water. 

The property is about 500 meters from the beach, so yes, you can walk to the beach if you want. The nearest beach is Playa Pilon with one of the best surf locations in the area at Pilon Main Point. There are also two other surf spots, “Middles”, which is great for longboarders and those that ride hydrofoils. The last point is one of my favorite spots to take the family, “Leftovers” Point. It’s got a mushy, soft, gentle wave perfect for longboarders and beginner surfers. Just a little bit further over from Leftovers point is a calm sandy beach. The town of Pavones is only about 12 minutes away where you can surf the legendary Pavones Point wave, the second longest left in the world and the best in Costa Rica. The area also has amazing big-game fishing, since the Golfo Dulce is protected from commercial fishing. Also the wildlife here is only second to Corcovado National Park, hence the night tours given at the property.
