Golfito Costa Rica
Golfito Costa Rica is a small, tropical fishing town in South West Costa Rica. It’s located in the south of the Puntarenas Province. Golfito is located in a natural bay surrounded by lush rain forest and small mountains. Golfito is best known for world-class big-game fishing. Some of the fish caught in the area are giant Yellowfin Tuna, Snapper, Mahi, Wahoo and many more big-game fish. Golfito is surrounded by beaches, except for one of them. You will need a boat or boat taxi to get to them. There are many restaurants to treat yourself and family. The fresh fish served at many of these restaurants is caught right off our waters in the Golfo Dulce. Golfito has a couple of new marinas where you can keep your boat and buy gear or bait. Besides the fishing, Golfito is known for the wildlife in the surrounding jungle, due to the national parks that are nearby or actually in Golfito, like Piedras Blancas National Park. The Golfo Dulce national wildlife refuge nurses Costa Rica’s exotic aninals back to health, like 3-toed sloths, Coatis and even big cats like Jaguars! A large portion of the homes in Golfito were built during the Banana Fruit Company days and were built using exotic hardwoods that stand to this day, almost 100 years later. Yes, there are some newly constructed homes in the city as well, feel free to ask me for a list. Golfito also has a hospital that serves most of the south west portion of Costa Rica, The Manuel Mora Valverde Hospital. Below is a list of properties listed with me in Golfito or surrounding areas.
